Over at Culture Compass, I have tried to keep readers up to date on all the amazing UK gigs put on by the legendary footwear brand over the last few years. Today I come with some more news for you guys here, this time directed to my European readers...
Joining the eclectic lineups of homegrown ground-breakers and innovators is UK Special Guests Turbowolf, bringing their hedonistic cocktail of garage rock, psychedelica and filthy riffs to the mouths of European adopters this September. Bursting speakers and decimating venues since their formation in 2008, Turbowolf have become synonymous with the rag-tag attitude of dedicated pandemonium, laying waste to the seas of fans who have born witness to their seismic live shows. Fresh from the release of their rebellious new album “Two Hands”, Turbowolf’s appearances across the European Stand For Something Tour are destined to live long in the memory, dripping their influence on future generations of independently minded trail-blazers.
I've been lucky enough to see these guys on numerous occasions, and it truly is a live experience like no other. So if you're in the UK and feeling a bit green eyed about today's reveal, why not make a weekend out of it and visit one of these incredible destinations. I met the Turbowolf many years ago, when they were playing Freeze festival. Back then I was camera woman for a friend who was interviewing them. We ended up sharing some bevvies and they even gave us a lovely shout out during their set. They are great guys, but more importantly for music fans that read my blog, they make a very unique noise, one which you should make a point of getting in to.
Commenting on joining the Stand For Something Tour, the band said: “We are very much looking forward to making sexy squidgy noises and fuzzing a small portion of Europe up”
On asking the band What They Stand For they replied: “Quality, Endeavour, Energy, Power, Love”
Turbowolf’s addition to the European Stand For Something Tour completes an eclectic and diverse lineup of local icons and boundary-breakers, all driven by individuality and standing by what they believe in. Full information on the dates, taking place in Hamburg, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Paris, can be found below:
